Orobie Basecamp

For HR and L&D

Team building is fun. Team alignment changes a company.

You have done the escape room, the cooking workshop and the rope course. Everyone thought it was a success, and three weeks later nothing has changed. That is not a bad activity, that is an activity without a question. We start from the question.

Why team building rarely changes anything

A fun day builds goodwill, not agreements. What blocks a team is almost never a lack of fun, but something left unsaid: unclear roles, old irritation, or two people using the same word differently. No game fixes that.

Improving communication without role play

Walking changes who speaks. Those who usually stay quiet talk, because there is no table and no audience. Those who usually take the floor listen, because the conversation continues while you climb. That is practising communication without it feeling like an exercise.

Developing leadership on the trail

Along the way, managers see their own part in what goes wrong, and that works better than a model on a slide. We use the WALK method: first what is going on, then the other perspective, then the learning, then the core. Four movements, from noise to choice.

Room for people who push on too long

A day outside with a real conversation is also prevention. People who have been gritting their teeth for months will say on a trail what is no longer working. We are not care providers, but we make room for the conversation before it is too late.

Team building is fun. Team alignment changes a company.

Frequently asked questions

Short and concrete.

Can this go on our annual plan as team building?
Yes, and it feels that way too. The team just comes back with agreements instead of photos. Many HR leads use it as the annual team day with substance.
Does everyone have to be fit?
No. If you can walk for an hour, you can join. In the Flemish Ardennes it is hilly but not technical, walking shoes are enough. We do not promise they come back clean.
How do you report back?
What was decided on the day goes home as a list of choices, owners and dates. What someone shared personally stays with that person. We set that boundary clearly upfront.
What does a team day cost?
In house from €1.250 (half day) or €1.850 (full day) per group. A walking day in the Flemish Ardennes €2.500 for a half day or €4.500 for a full day, drinks included.

Step 1

A thirty minute conversation

You describe what is not moving. We ask the question more clearly and say honestly whether we are the right party.

Step 2

A proposal that suits you

The right formula, the price, the duration, and what we need from you. No standard quote.

Step 3

A date and a checkpoint

A date that works for your agenda, plus a conversation after thirty days to see if the plan remains alive.
