What it is
Spiazzi di Gromo, de Orobie. Bergen, rifugio's, lokaal eten, stevige wandelingen en voldoende afstand om opnieuw naar het grotere plaatje te kijken. Met inhoudelijke sessies wanneer ze nodig zijn. En aperitivo wanneer die nodig is. We zijn tenslotte ook geen monsters.
Omdat bijna niemand hier naartoe rijdt. Geen resort, geen conferentiehotel, een basis in de Alta Val Seriana waar je een keer uitpakt en de valleien naar jou toe komen. Wifi is aanwezig. We gaan alleen proberen je er af en toe van weg te houden.

The rhythm

Arrival in Spiazzi, a short walk to the ridge, and in the evening the context and the first question on the table.

The right price depends on your group and question; in the first call you get a concrete proposal straight away.
Honest about the hurdles
You don't have to be. No climbing experience is needed and the pace adapts to the group, not the other way round. The slowest day sets the rhythm.
Then there's something worth five days of thinking. And if three days is more honest for your calendar, we choose three.
For an existing team that works. Smaller isn't less; the pace gets more intimate and the conversation reaches the core faster.

The Alta Val Seriana is not resort country. We work only with people who live here, and with initiatives that create work for those who struggle to find it.
Every bed, every meal, every guide and every transfer comes from someone who lives in the Val Seriana. No tour operator in between, no commission chain.
What a retreat costs here pays for a rifugio's roof, a trattoria's kitchen and a guide's winter. That's the difference between visiting a region and keeping it alive.
We work with initiatives that create jobs for people with few options here: trail maintenance, catering, transport and retreat logistics.
Our retreats fall in spring and autumn, exactly when the valley is quietest. Work in the months that would otherwise be empty.
Thirty minutes is enough to know whether this works. We discuss the question, the group and the right length.
