When a day's distance is not enough.
From Spiazzi di Gromo, we literally head into the mountains. Multi-day retreats with hikes, local partners, rifugios, food and content sessions.
Outside, the rhythm changes. People walk next to each other instead of across from each other. Silences become less uncomfortable.
There is literally space to step back. That is why the outdoors is not a backdrop. It is part of how we work.

The three of us
Two facilitators, zero gurus, a dog.
Orobie Basecamp began as Ludo’s idea. In practice, Tycho and Ludo do almost everything together: Owner Walks, Basecamp Days, Team Resets and the Founders’ Escape are guided by both of us. Ludo takes on the multi-day retreats in Italy — it is his second home. Both facilitators, both co-founders of The Missing Brick. The Missing Brick is part of every Orobie Basecamp.

- What is Orobie Basecamp?
- Orobie Basecamp facilitates entrepreneurs, owners and teams while walking: the hike is the working format, and LEGO® Serious Play® turns talk into decisions. We work in the Flemish Ardennes (Belgium) and in the Orobie Alps near Spiazzi di Gromo (Italy). Facilitation, not team-building with a rope course.
- Which formats are there and what do they cost?
- Five formats, prices simply listed on the site: The Owner Walk from €250 per person (half a day), Basecamp Day from €1.250 for a half day and €1.850 for a full day per group, Team Reset from €2.500 per group, Founders’ Escape from €1.950 per person for three days, and the Orobie Retreat in Italy from €2.450 per person for three days.
- What is the WALK method?
- WALK stands for Walk, Ask, Look, Keep: start moving and sharpen the question, keep asking, look at patterns and assumptions, then write down what you actually keep. After the walk comes building with LEGO® Serious Play®, and then deciding. Short version: WALK → BUILD → DECIDE.
- Who is this for?
- Entrepreneurs and owners carrying one question around for weeks, management teams stuck in the same discussion, and HR or L&D people looking for more than a day out. Groups stay small, usually four to twelve people.
- Where do the days take place?
- In the Flemish Ardennes, starting in Michelbeke or at the Muziekbos in Ronse. Multi-day retreats run in Val Seriana in the Orobie Alps, above Spiazzi di Gromo, with local partners and rifugios. In-house at your own location works too.
- Do you need to be a seasoned hiker?
- No. Rolling hills, walking shoes are enough, no technical sections. We walk at talking pace, because the conversation is the work. Distances are longer in Italy, but the pace is still the group’s.
- What does the Italian retreat cost and what is included?
- From €2.450 per person for three days. Stay, meals, guides and facilitation are arranged through local partners in Val Seriana. Travel to Italy you arrange yourself: so nearly everything, just not quite everything.
- How do you book, and in which languages do you work?
- There is no online booking. You plan a call through the site or email ludo@orobiebasecamp.eu, and a proposal follows. Facilitation happens in Dutch, English, French or Italian.
- Who facilitates the days?
- Tycho and Ludo, both facilitators and co-founders of The Missing Brick, run Owner Walks, Basecamp Days, Team Resets and the Founders’ Escape together. Ludo hosts the multi-day retreats in Italy. Maurice is Head of Walks and has four legs.
