Walk
Walk to Vodala & lunch above the valley
3–4 hours · Moderate · 8.4 km
A steady climb through larch woods to a rifugio terrace where lunch takes as long as you want it to.
Culture · Gromo

Gromo was built on silver and iron and still looks it: a castle, a square with a fountain, workshops behind heavy doors.
Walk the old streets in the morning, sit in the square with a coffee, then take the path down to the river before lunch.
Because it is a real village, not a museum. The bar is full of people who live here.
Basecamp tip
The square is at its best between 17:00 and 19:00, when the village comes out for an aperitivo and nobody is in a rush to serve you.
Rain suits Gromo. Take the covered lanes and a long lunch.
